Bocas del Toro

WOW! Where does one start to explain Bocas del Toro? Stunning natural beauty, amazing parties, delicious food, comfortable places to stay, bumping reggae music, friendly locals and tourists. And that’s just the beginning.

Bocas del Toro truly is the tourist epicenter of Panama. From late night partying to breathtaking tropical Caribbean island scenery, Bocas has it all.  Bocas del Toro hosts a Caribbean life style that has to be seen to be appreciated.  In Bocas life revolves around the sea.  It’s very common for a local to own two or three boats and no cars.

There are hundreds of palm lined beaches and mangrove covered islands littering the archipelago of Bocas del Toro. Many small communities are built on stilts right over the ocean. Must have a local restaurant-bar with reggae music playing and an ice cold beer or perhaps a rum drink waiting for you.  Believe me, you’ll love this place!

During the surf season (between late December and late to mid March) Bocas delivers some of the most beautiful and powerful waves available in Panama.  It’s a short swell window, but when the Caribbean Sea delivers, the reefs and sandbars around Isla Colon, Isla Caraneros and Isla Bastimentos go off.  Bocas has been featured in many international surfing magazines and videos.

Fishing, snorkeling and sight seeing tours are all available in Bocas to take groups to palm lined tropical beaches like Red Frog Beach, Boca del Drago or Star Fish Beach.

Bocas del Toro is a tourist destination not to be missed when in Panama, just make sure to bring your bathing suit, flip flops and plenty of sun screen.
